At Fredsted Studio, we work exclusively with European oak, carefully sourced from responsibly managed forests in Northern Europe. Oak is a robust and enduring material that has been valued for centuries with good reason. It resists wear, ages gracefully, and develops a natural patina over time, reflecting the life and rhythm of the home.

SOLID TOP
Fredsted Solid Top floor planks are crafted with two layers of high-quality birch plywood and up to 5.5 mm solid oak top layer. This thick surface ensures both durability and stability. Although it is an engineered floor, Fredsted Solid Top retains the natural qualities of wood. It is less affected by moisture and temperature changes, providing excellent dimensional stability – particularly suitable for underfloor heating and challenging climates. This construction maintains both structural integrity and a premium finish, resulting in a floor that lasts for decades and becomes more beautiful over time.

Each parquet is carefully selected from the finest European natural wood and crafted to special order by experienced artisans. Installation
A wooden floor must be allowed to live, which is why the planks are laid on a solid subfloor of concrete, plywood, or joists. With our recommended parquet adhesive, a stable foundation is created while still allowing the floor to move naturally.
The planks are laid in a staggered pattern, letting the grain and joints form a harmonious rhythm. Along walls and fixed elements, a narrow gap is left to give the wood space to adjust to seasonal changes in temperature and humidity.
In larger rooms, discreet expansion joints can be incorporated to ensure the floor maintains its balance and beauty for many years to come.
Care
Can be cleaned regularly using Fredsted Natural Soap.
For spot repair and refinish use Fredsted Custom Oil.
