At the Väven Cultural Center, the choice of materials was crucial to achieving both aesthetic coherence and sustainability. The exterior staircase features black glass panels housing digital screens, which required ceramic tiles that would not only complement the sleek look of the glass but also offer a vibrant, long-lasting appearance.
Mosa’s Terra Tones tiles were selected to meet these needs, providing a smooth, powdery finish and a dynamic look that could enhance the building’s design. White Arkitekter, the firm behind Väven’s architecture, sought materials that aligned with their high standards for sustainability and functionality. The Terra Tones series delivered on all fronts, offering subtle variations in tone that bring large surfaces to life. For the 60×120 cm format used, the contrast between the color tones was heightened to create a striking yet harmonious effect, making the tiles an ideal choice for both the building’s interior and exterior applications.
The result is a future-proof facade that not only complements the black glass but also adds depth and texture, reflecting Väven’s modern and cultural spirit.
