Billund’s new Teddy Bear Art Museum is housed in a former private home, set in a modernist villa from 1959. The house is located in the center of Billund, close to the town square. The renovation of the villa was carried out with the utmost respect for the building’s original design language and materials – for instance, the original windows and doors have been preserved as much as possible.
From all windows, there are views of the house’s beautiful old garden. The heart of the house is a working workshop, located in the original atrium courtyard. In the former swimming pool area, the roof has been raised, so that a strip of high-placed windows draws daylight into the new exhibition room. Our classic Pale Oak has been used on the floors in this renovation process.
